Oracle sets up two innovation centers to target advanced technologies such as AI recruitment

On the topic of the next wave of technology, Oracle never wanted to be left alone.

According to Bloomberg News senior reporter Brian Womack, the company’s latest move is to establish two new “Solution Engineering Centers” within the company, the main work of these two centers. It is responsible for R&D projects that include artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and all other cutting-edge technologies.

In Oracle, this approach is called "starting inside your own company" (startup inside Oracle).

It is reported that the two "Engineering Solution Centers" will be located in Reston, Virginia, and Denver, Colorado. Currently, these two centers are currently hiring, including director-level positions. The company stated in its recruitment announcement that employees here have "a rare opportunity to participate in the creation of a revolutionary organization within Oracle North America."

From the current news we get, the "Engineering Solution Center" will create personalized cloud applications and other cutting-edge technology platforms for Oracle customers. For example, Engineers in the Engineering Solutions Center will be responsible for tailoring a VR application for the travel industry customer, or creating a marketing application with the artificial intelligence technology as the core for retail customers.

Oracle has been known all over the world for its powerful capabilities in data centers and building enterprise-class applications. But today, more and more companies are no longer buying, customizing applications, and installing them in their own data centers. Instead, they are choosing to lease applications from many cloud computing providers.

However, in terms of cloud computing, although Oracle also has its own cloud computing platform, the company is, after all, a latecomer in this area, and therefore faces many competitive pressures from companies including Amazon.

In fact, as early as last September’s press conference, Larry Ellison, executive chairman and chief technology officer of Oracle’s Board of Directors, bluntly stated that Oracle will fully enter the field of cloud computing and start a positive battle with Amazon, even It is bluntly stated that "the era of Amazon's dominance is to be a past tense."

The reason why Ellison dared to say this was that Oracle had already invested billions of dollars in cloud computing in recent years to invest in mergers and acquisitions, and he quickly became an integrated cloud service provider across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. From the perspective of acquisitions, Oracle began multi-dimensional cloud computing business as early as five years ago. Moreover, in order to fully support its own cloud computing business, Oracle almost rewritten all software products and redesigned the application interaction, and even developed a high-performance server chip.

In other areas of technology, Facebook has been fully engaged in artificial intelligence technology, and Amazon Alexa, Microsoft Cortana and Google Now are in the intelligent voice assistant before and after the city.

Obviously, Oracle hopes to further strengthen its R&D capabilities in these cutting-edge technologies through the newly established two "Engineering Solution Centers."
