3. Add product categories to allow new product category applications. First, the product categories not covered by the existing DLC ​​product categories can be applied through the Specialty category. This product category is not in the existing product category. DLC certification is required before DLC certification can be performed, but an additional USD400/ is required. The evaluation cost of the model; the second is that as long as the DLC meets all the requirements for different types of lamps, the same lamp can simultaneously apply for multiple categories in one large category. Example: An outdoor luminaire can be applied to both outdoor lighting categories such as “Parking Garage Luminairesâ€, “Fuel Pump Canopy Luminairesâ€, “Architectural Flood and Spot Luminairesâ€.
4. Add DLC Premium level (advanced) application (replacement lamp does not belong to this level), so as to select more excellent products, that is, all product categories are divided into two categories: Standard (general category) and Premium. The new grade (DLC Premium) has increased requirements for luminaire products. The light efficiency requirements are higher than the Standard grade, 25-30 lmW higher, and the L90 requirement is more than 36000 hours. It is necessary to evaluate the drive temperature rise (TMPps) to provide the LED driver TC point. The temperature rise test report, and the TC temperature can not exceed the manufacturer-defined temperature, etc.; compared with the V2.1 version, the performance requirements of the Standard level are not changed much.
5. Unify the life requirements of all product categories to 50,000 hours. The "DisplayCase" and "High Bay" products in the V2.1 version have a life expectancy of 35,000 hours.
6. Unlike V2.1, V3.0 requires a safety certificate for all categories of products.
7. For replacement LED tubes, the listed products need to supplement the lamp UL classification information (such as UL Type A, TypeB, TypeC and TypeA&B) to DLC, the deadline is March 25, 2016;
The technical specification, introduced after a year of brewing, will have a huge impact on the US LED lighting market and Chinese manufacturers who focus on the US market.
