Some Experiences and Skills of Using Auto CAD2000 to Print Out Drawings

Auto CAD2000 is the latest version of the computer-aided drawing tool software. Compared with the earlier version, many new functions have been added to make users more handy in drawing and drawing output. The following are the drawings provided by the author based on actual work experience. Some tips for drawing settings and drawing output. The plotter model used by the author is HP DesignJet 750c Plus.
1. Several new functions of Auto CAD2000 in drawing setting and printing:
1. New layout options In AutoCAD2000, the previous paper space is replaced by layout. The layout is an enhanced paper space environment, which simulates the paper page, sets the viewport and determines the page settings when outputting, thus Provide intuitive print settings. Multiple paper space layouts can be set in one graphics file, each layout has a unique name, and the layout can be copied, moved, renamed, and deleted, and can also be saved in the template file for the new graphics file. The layout can be created through the layout tab on the status bar or using the layout wizard. A series of settings for printing effects can be set in "Layout Settings". The layout window after creation is shown in Figure 1: The outermost rectangular outline represents The drawing size used by the currently configured printer device. The dotted rectangle indicates the printable area of the paper. The floating viewport is the observation window of the model space. The objects in the model space cannot be directly edited in the floating viewport. Do it in model space, or double-click the viewport in the layout to make it active, "perspective into model space", and then process the model space object in the viewport.
2. New features of printing function The printing function has been significantly enhanced in AutoCAD2000, which can print high-quality drawings more conveniently and stably. The new printing features include: save the printout parameters with the graphics file, display the line width on the screen, WYSIWYG layout, more comprehensive control of hard disk copy output by using print style sheets, the drawing size is completely determined by the printing device, etc., and there is a new wizard to guide the configuration of the printing device, customize the drawing size, and also add " "Page Setup" option, "Page Setup" is the print settings saved with the layout, there are two options "Printing Device" and "Layout Settings", including printing device, printing style sheet, printing area, drawing rotation, printing offset, The functions of drawing size and zoom ratio are shown in figure 2 in the "Layout Settings" item.
2. Several experiences and skills:
1. The display of line width adds the "line width" feature in the "Layer" setting of AutoCAD2000, which can clearly show the section of the part, the depth of the elevation, the dimension line and the mark, and the difference with thick and thin lines. You can also specify different line widths for different layers, so that you can graphically represent objects and information. Objects with line width can be printed with line width values, and can also display line widths or output objects with line widths to other applications, but users cannot use line width characteristics to accurately represent the width of objects. It is actually an object with a width. It is best to use the "Polyline" command to draw a compound line width. At the same time, the display of line width is different in the model space and paper space layout. In the model space, the line width is displayed in pixels; while in the paper space layout, the line width is displayed as the actual print width. You can set the display scale of the line width in the line width setting command to set the thickness of the line width display of the object in the model space. The change of the display scale will not affect the printed value of the line width.
2. The printing direction of the graphics and the paper feeding direction of the printer. In the “Layout Settings” tab of the “Page Setup” dialog box, the “graphic direction” actually refers to the printing direction of the graphics on the drawing, which is indicated by a letter A. "Landscape", "Portrait" and "Reverse Print" to set the printing direction of the graphics on the drawing. When using the "Landscape" setting, the long side of the area to be printed is horizontal, when using "Portrait" printing, the The short side is horizontal. The general printer or plotter also has two paper feeding directions, "landscape" and "portrait", so drawings of the same size are listed twice in the "drawing size" drop-down menu, but the landscape and portrait here refer to the interior of the printer Determine the direction of the drawing. "Landscape" paper feeding refers to the physical direction of the printer placing the paper in the printer as the X-axis direction. The first left edge of the paper is the left border of the paper, and "portrait" paper feeding The printer puts the physical direction of the printing paper into the printer as the Y-axis direction, and the upper boundary of the drawing is the first thing that comes out of the paper outlet. Therefore, the effect of modifying the orientation of the drawing in AutoCAD2000 is like rotating the drawing under the graphic, and the position of the graphic to be printed remains unchanged.
3. Implementation of the integration of mechanical design and output When we use CAD for auxiliary design, according to the design steps, there should be design sketches, assembly drawings, engineering drawings (part drawings), and these drawings should maintain a certain relationship: Assembly drawings and part drawings are drawn according to the design drawings; when the design is modified, that is, the design sketches should be modified, the assembly drawings and engineering drawings should be modified at the same time. Since AutoCAD2000 provides new functions such as layout and page settings, we can fully realize the design drawings and assembly drawings And the part drawing is located in the same file, but because in such a file, the line is more complicated, in order to edit and print out, generally use different layers and colors to manage, the design sketch, assembly drawing and part drawing They are located in different layers, so that when you want to display or edit the drawing of a part, you can close or freeze other layers, so that the editing operation does not affect other unrelated drawings; at the same time corresponds to each part to be exported Both the drawing and the assembly drawing must create a layout. If you want to export a part drawing, the floating Freeze viewport other layers, i.e., by selectively activating floating viewport freeze layers, and pan and zoom model space object, you can specify the display portion or output different patterns of the model space. Therefore, only the drawing of the part is displayed and output, and when the designer modifies the design in the model space, the graphics to be output in the layout will be automatically updated.
Because there is no printer installed or you want to use other high-end printers to input AutoCAD graphics, you need to go to another computer to print AutoCAD graphics, but other computers may not have AutoCAD installed, or for various reasons (such as AutoCAD graphics displayed on other computers fonts Not normal, printing through the network, abnormal network printing, etc.), you can not use other computers for normal printing, at this time, you can first print AutoCAD graphics to a file on your computer to form a printer file, and then on another computer Use the DOS copy command to output the printer file to the printer. The method is: copy <printer file> prn / b. It should be noted that in order to use this function, you need to add another specific model printer on the computer to the system. And set it as the default printer. In addition, don't forget to add / b at the end after COPY, indicating that the printer file is output to the printer in binary form.
