(Microchip Technology, Inc.) announced the launch of its first with 30V input step-down switching capacity of 600 mA output steady Pressure regulator MCP16301 . With a wide input voltage range of 4V to 30V, the MCP16301 has an output voltage range of 2V to 15V and an efficiency of up to 95%. The 600 mA MCP16301 is available in a 6-lead SOT-23 package with an integrated bridge switch that requires the fewest external components. The device is ideal for industrial, telecommunications, consumer electronics and automotive markets such as set-top boxes, LED lighting, air conditioning systems and meter applications.

The MCP16301 provides an efficient, compact solution for bucking 12V to 24V DC supply voltages for PIC? microcontrollers and other low voltage devices in a variety of applications. High-speed peak current mode control quickly responds to sudden input voltage and load transients encountered in power applications. The MCP16301 also features excellent line and load regulation, while integrated control loop compensation and slope compensation make the complex task of stabilizing the converter control system simple and reliable. In addition, the MCP16301 reduces power requirements and heat generation within the application, as well as corresponding cooling requirements, compared to low dropout (LDO) regulators .
