ADuM3154 Reference Design Circuit | Isolator Application Circuit

The ADuM3154 is a 3.75kV rms, 7-channel SPIsolatorTM digital isolator optimized for Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and supports up to four slaves. (5kV rms model available). Based on Analog Devices' iCoupler® chip-scale transformer technology, the device features low propagation delay and jitter in CLK, MO/SI, MI/SO, and SS channels to support SPI clock rates up to 17 MHz.
The ADuM3154 isolators also offer a slave-selectable multiplexing system that supports up to four slave devices. The slave selection system uses the full propagation speed to propagate to the desired output for tight timing control. The isolated SS multiplexer is addressed via a 250 kbps low speed dual port with a settling time of 2.5 μs.

ADuM3154 features:

1. Supports SPI clock speeds up to 17 MHz
2, 4 high speed, low propagation delay, SPI signal isolation channel
3, support up to 4 slave devices
4, 20-pin SSOP package with a creepage distance of 5.1 mm

ADuM3154 application:
1. Industrial programmable logic controller (PLC)
2, sensor isolation

The ADuM3154 can control up to four independent slave devices. Figure 2 shows how it can be implemented using a universal isolator. Isolation channels must be selected from time to time, so seven high-speed channels require bidirectional data transfer to four slave devices.
