Tenda Digital Information (Linda) Kammok is a new outdoor equipment brand in the United States. The main products are tents and sleeping bags. Founder Greg McEvilly started out in the real estate industry but he loves adventure and the outdoors. He founded Kammok in 2010 and started designing his own products.
Soon, Kammok's evaluation of interesting and innovative designs opened up the market for outdoor equipment. Its rain-proof tarpaulins and sleeping bags were very successful on crowdfunding platforms, resulting in more funds and attention from angel investors.
Kammok's latest product proves once again that if there is a good idea, it will not be sold. Its latest Sunda tent was released on Kickstarter for 22 days, which resulted in US$256,000 in funding, and its target funding was only 75,000 yuan.
So what exactly is the Sunda tent? It can be transformed, yes, Sunda is a tent, it can also become a hammock. Why did the old outdoor vendors not think of this genius idea?
Greg McEvilly said in an interview that Sunda's concept was born naturally. The Kammok brand has been exploring the interesting and versatile outdoor product form of people. A double tent can become a hammock within a few minutes, allowing people to achieve different outdoor experiences. This is obviously a good idea.
Kammok has a total of 4 configurations, ranging in weight from 0.45 to 2.26 kg, to meet the needs of different users. The structure is very flexible and provides a variety of user experience. For example, a rain cover can be added, or a white transparent inner cover can be used to enjoy the feeling of sunshine. At night, LED lights can be hung for lighting.
Of course, you can also hang it between two trees or two load-bearing frames to enjoy more open views and hammock comfort.
On the price side, Sunda is not cheap, starting at $299 (approximately RMB 2015), but this does not stop the supporters’ enthusiasm, and the amount and number are still increasing. Greg McEvilly said that he wants Kammok to be the "Swiss Army Knife" in outdoor brands, but this is not the best metaphor, they want to do more interesting.
