Central government finances 13 billion yuan to support photovoltaic power generation

According to statistics, in 2012, the central government allocated a total of 13 billion yuan in funds, supporting a total of 5,200 megawatts of domestic applications for photovoltaic power generation.

The central government funds are mainly used to subsidize and reward photovoltaic power generation demonstration projects, and 80,000 kilowatts of independent photovoltaic power stations that solve the problem of electricity in remote areas and islands in Qinghai, Tibet, Xinjiang, and Hainan are all included in the scope of financial subsidies. It covers about 280,000 households without electricity and more than 800,000 people without electricity. In addition, further adjustments and improvements have been made in the appropriation of subsidy funds, and local financial resources will be allocated to local governments. The funds will be allocated to specific project units according to the progress of project construction, etc., to improve the efficiency of the use of financial funds.
