Mimaki Equipment has introduced a large-format UV-curing inkjet printer JFX-1631, which uses the latest UVLED light curing technology and high-precision linear microstepping drive with high speed and high quality features.
In recent years, Mimaki Equipment has taken the lead in the inkjet printing market with its advanced UV inkjet technology. The company began selling UJF-605C curing inkjet printers in 2004. In 2006 and 2008, it launched large-format JF-1631/1610 and UJV-160 printers using LED curing technology. The new JFX-1631 model combines the latest technology and will be the leading brand in its class of inkjet printers. UVLED curing inkjet printers not only improve image quality but also reduce energy consumption with UVLED curing systems.
The new UVLED curing system produces virtually no heat and is suitable for a wide range of heat sensitive media such as foam, digital channel boards, polyvinyl chloride, acrylic and styrene panels. Since the ultraviolet light emitted by the UVLED lamp can immediately cure the ink, the drying time required by other technologies is eliminated, and the production efficiency is greatly improved. In addition, it has a variety of advanced features and is environmentally friendly. Compared to traditional metal halide lamps, UVLED lamps can save 2/3 of the energy. The life of LED lights is five times that of traditional UV lamps. Another important advantage of UVLED technology is that UVLED lamps do not require heating time and can be turned on or off as needed.
The JFX-1631 printer has eight new printheads that print at twice the speed of older models. The new printhead positioning system is driven by a high-resolution linear motor that allows precise positioning of the ink droplets and greatly reduces strip-like artifacts.
The UV ink used in conjunction with this model has a wide range of applications and is suitable for printing on rigid and flexible materials. The model also comes with a white selection scheme that prints clear color patterns on transparent and colored materials.
