In the next ten years, robots may reshape everything we know. The core of this revolution is in China

In warehouses across China, tens of thousands of robots are processing orders from e-commerce sites. On November 11 last year, Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba's e-commerce robot processed 812 million orders within 24 hours.

In addition, workers are being replaced by robots in factories across China. Foxconn, the world's largest electronics foundry, replaced 60,000 robot employees in 2015.

Last year, China successfully developed an autonomous dental implant surgery robot, and the robot successfully performed the first surgery.

Market research company Mordor Intelligence predicts that from 2018 to 2023, the annual compound growth rate of the global robot market will reach 24.5%.

Foreign media pointed out that in the next five to ten years, robots will likely reshape everything we know, and the core of this revolution is in China.

According to the Wall Street Journal, in 2016, there were only 36 robots per 10,000 manufacturing workers in China. In contrast, the proportions in Japan and South Korea are 315 and 478 respectively.

But China is closing this gap. According to the plan, by 2020, the number of industrial robots per 10,000 industrial workers in China will reach 80, and by 2025 it will be further increased to 150. This means that by 2020, China will produce at least 100,000 industrial robots every year.

According to data from the International Federation of Robotics (InternaTIonal FederaTIon of RoboTIcs), global robot sales totaled 387,000 units last year, a year-on-year increase of 32%, and a new high. China is the world's largest industrial robot market with a total sales volume of 138,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 59%. South Korea and Japan continue to maintain their positions as the second and third largest robot consumer countries, with sales of 45,000 and 42,000 units The growth rate is also 9%.

Why is China focusing on robotics?

The US media said that the increasing demand for automation in manufacturing, and China is fundamentally driving this demand growth, China's economy accounts for less than 15% of the global economy, but its demand for automation technology is twice this number many.

An HSBC report pointed out that nearly one-third of all manufacturing automation demand is expected to come from China, with an average annual compound growth rate of 21%, while North America is expected to grow at 7%.

China currently accounts for 20% of global R & D spending, which is second only to 26% in the United States. In the field of artificial intelligence (AI), China also ranks second, second only to the United States in terms of the number of artificial intelligence companies and the corresponding financing amount.
