Intersil pushes new precision 40V dual op amp

Global high-performance analog mixed-signal semiconductor design and manufacturing leader Intersil Corporation, today announced a new single 40V supply rail output, precision, two-channel operational amplifiers (op amp) - ISL28218, it has a high precision, low noise Excellent characteristics, its temperature drift index has reached the highest standards in the industry. This ultra-precise device consumes only half the power of its class for industrial, data acquisition and process control applications.

The ISL28218 is a dual op amp that provides design flexibility with a single supply and ground reference input, rail-to-rail output, single or dual supply operation. The ISL28218's reliable input stage features circuit protection with a wide common-mode voltage range of up to 0.5V below the negative rail. The ISL28218 can be used by designers in a variety of harsh operating environments, as well as sensing applications where the signal is below ground voltage.

With a maximum power consumption of only 1.1mA, the ISL28218 is half the power of comparable devices, increasing the flexibility for designers to make the most of their existing power budgets.

The ISL28218 is ideal for applications that require higher DC accuracy and AC performance, including instrumentation, data acquisition, precision power supplies, and industrial control. The ISL28218 temperature drift is industry leading and guarantees extremely high system accuracy under temperature variations. In addition, the low noise of the ISL28218 improves the signal to noise ratio. These distinguishing features make Intersil's latest 40V op amps the industry's best in terms of accuracy, noise and power consumption.

The ISL28218 uses Intersil's self-developed silicon-on-insulator (SOI) bipolar process technology for extremely reliable latch-up resistance. The device has a rated electrostatic discharge (ESD) of HBe 3keV and a machine discharge mode of 300V, providing reliable performance in harsh industrial environments over the -40C to +125C temperature range.
