Introduction to the application circuit of the MAX1605 LCD bias power supply with 30V switch

The MAX1605 boost converter includes a small 6-pin SOT23 package with a 0.5A internal switch. The IC operates from a +2.4 V to +5.5 V supply voltage, but can increase the output as low as 0.8V to 30V battery voltage.
The MAX1605's unique control scheme provides the highest efficiency under a wide range of load conditions. The internal 0.5A MOSFET reduces the number of external components, as well as the tiny surface mount components allowed for high switching frequencies (up to 500kHz). The current limit can be set to 500mA, 250mA, or 125mA, allowing the user to reduce the size of the output ripple and low current application components.
Other features include low quiescent current and shutdown mode to save power. The MAX1605 is ideal for low current requirements in small LCD panels, but it can also be used in other applications. The MAX1605EVKIT evaluation kit (EV kit) helps accelerate design time.
